At Binghamton University, 97 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students – age 24 or younger – and 50 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Vestal enrolled 17,768 students in fall 2018, including 14,021 in undergraduate and 3,747 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

87 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 7 percent are residents of other states. 6 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (57 percent) and Asian (14 percent).

The school admitted 40 percent of the 38,755 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 19 percent enrolled.
