UHS Oncology Services organized its third annual Cancer Survivors Day Picnic on June 1 at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton. The event was held to honor National Cancer Survivors Day 2025.

The picnic attracted over 100 cancer survivors, their families, and staff from UHS’s Radiation Oncology and Rehabilitation Services. Participants enjoyed food provided by UHS Food & Nutrition and ice cream from the Cone Connection. Despite the chilly weather, the presence of therapy dogs from Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs and music by Kevin, a transportation coordinator at UHS, added warmth to the occasion.

This year’s theme was “Fabric of Hope.” Attendees had the opportunity to write messages on quilting squares, which will be assembled into a quilt for display at the cancer center. The Common Threads Quilting Club is assisting with the quilt’s construction.

“Thank you to all who attended and to everyone in our community who donated their time and resources to make this year’s event so special,” stated an organizer.
