Each year, the Chemung County Youth Board, along with the community, honors individuals and organizations dedicated to providing quality youth services in Chemung County. This year marks the 40th Chemung County Youth Bureau Awards Reception.

The event will take place at the Clemens Center on April 29th. The social hour begins at 5:00 p.m., with the awards ceremony starting at 6:00 p.m. in Mandeville Hall.

The awards to be presented include the Daniel J. Donahoe Award, named after its first recipient, Judge Daniel J. Donahoe. This award goes to an adult who has made significant contributions to the youth and families of the community.

Another award, the Lisa A. Bowers Summer Cohesion Synergy Award, recognizes those who demonstrate partnership and collaboration in the Chemung County Summer Cohesion Program.

The Program Excellence Award acknowledges outstanding efforts in local youth service projects, while the Polly Sanders Scholarship supports youth who have uniquely contributed to their community or overcome significant personal challenges.

Christopher J. Moss, the Chemung County Executive, expressed hopes for high attendance at the event.
