The Cortland Memorial Foundation’s 22nd annual Golf Classic raised over $69,000 to benefit Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. The event took place on August 11 at the Cortland Country Club and included participation from 64 golfers and community members. Funds collected will be used to purchase advanced medical equipment and support programs aimed at improving patient care, health education, and overall quality of life in the region.

“This well-loved tradition is our largest fundraiser, and I am so grateful for our generous sponsors and the many volunteers who help to make this event such a success,” said Sheila Ossit, Director of the Cortland Memorial Foundation. “The medical center partners with many businesses and organizations that enable us to provide the best care possible for our patients at Guthrie Cortland.”

Since it began in 2004, the Golf Classic has raised close to $1.5 million for hospital programs and initiatives. Major sponsors for this year’s tournament included Kinney Drugs Foundation/Health Direct/Noble Health Services, McNeil Development Company LLC, MRB Group, Strategic Financial Services Inc., US Acute Care Solutions, Welliver, and Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP.

Bradley Totman, Foundation Board Chair, served as emcee during the event. He was joined by board members Marisa Clifford, DMD; Rex Gido, MD; Steve Wineburg; Mary Ellen Bloodgood; and Marie Darling.

The next Golf Classic is scheduled for August 10, 2026.
