Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grants to several airports in New York’s 23rd district. The Corning-Painted Post Airport received $731,951, Akron Jesson Field Airport was granted $394,724, Buffalo-Lancaster Regional Airport obtained $386,272, and Chautauqua County Jamestown Airport was allocated $201,400.
The FAA awarded an AIP grant to the Town of Erwin Industrial Development Agency for the final phase of construction at Corning-Painted Post Airport. This project will focus on rehabilitating 3,269 feet of an existing paved runway to maintain its structural integrity.
Christian Airmen Inc. received an AIP grant for Akron Jesson Field Airport to conduct an initial pavement survey and develop a new pavement management plan.
Lancaster Airport Inc. was awarded a grant for Buffalo-Lancaster Regional Airport to perform an initial pavement study and create a new pavement management plan.
Chautauqua County Jamestown Airport received funding for reconstructing the existing Terminal Apron lighting and 13,900 square yards of Terminal Apron pavement. The grant was awarded to the County of Chautauqua.
