Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy addressed the House Floor to express his support for H.R. 1, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. He emphasized the urgency of extending key provisions of the current tax code, which he argued have been instrumental in driving economic growth and job creation.

Langworthy warned that without action, these provisions are set to expire, leading to what he described as “the largest tax increase in a generation.” He outlined potential impacts on American families and businesses, including reductions in child tax credits and loss of expensing tools for small businesses. He highlighted that workers could face smaller paychecks and those most affected would be working parents and middle-class families.

He stated: “Let’s be clear: this outcome, where the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act expires leading to colossal tax increases for the American people, is something my colleagues on the Left wholeheartedly support.”

Langworthy concluded by asserting that Republicans in Congress, along with President Trump, are committed to preventing Democrats from hindering what he sees as crucial economic progress. The proposed legislation aims to make the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent while offering significant tax relief to seniors, tipped workers, and overtime employees.
