Congressman Nick Langworthy visited the Village of Springville on Thursday to engage with residents, local officials, and small business owners. His visit aimed to understand the community’s challenges and highlight recent policy changes that are positively impacting the area.
At the Concord Senior Center, Congressman Langworthy spoke with seniors about rising living costs and protecting Social Security. He noted that due to recent legislative changes, 88% of seniors will no longer pay federal tax on their Social Security benefits. This change is expected to help retirees manage everyday expenses better.
Accompanied by Concord Town Supervisor Phil Drozd and Springville Deputy Mayor Russ Belscher, Langworthy walked down Main Street to talk with small business owners. He reiterated his commitment to reducing bureaucracy, maintaining low taxes, and supporting local entrepreneurs’ growth.
At Springville Pharmacy, a key healthcare resource in the community, discussions focused on lowering prescription drug prices and reforms affecting Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). These reforms aim to ensure medication access in rural areas where such pharmacies are crucial.
Langworthy expressed his admiration for Springville: “Springville is a wonderful example of everything that’s right about small-town America right here in Western New York—strong families, close-knit neighbors, and hardworking small business owners,” he said. “It was an honor to hear directly from the people I serve.”
Supervisor Phil Drozd added: “We are grateful to Congressman Langworthy for being a powerful voice for Concord in Washington.” He acknowledged the importance of tax relief secured by Langworthy for families, seniors, and businesses.
