The Guthrie Clinic has been committed to community health since its founding by Dr. Donald Guthrie in 1910. The clinic’s dedication continues through the Donald Guthrie Foundation, established in 1944, which supports high-quality programs that benefit the community.

In the recent fiscal year, Guthrie provided charity care valued at over $132 million. A significant part of this effort is the Guthrie Community Benefit Grant program, which awards funds to community partners working to improve health and well-being. This year, grants totaling $75,000 were distributed to initiatives that align with the priorities identified in Guthrie’s Community Health Assessment Survey.

Dr. Edmund Sabanegh, President and CEO of The Guthrie Clinic, remarked on the recipients’ commitment: “I’m struck by the diversity of their approaches and the common thread that connects these organizations — their commitment to ensuring that no one in our rural communities faces health challenges alone.”
