Guthrie Cortland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cortland, New York, has been awarded the 2025 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). This award recognizes the center’s efforts to enhance the quality of care for its residents. The Bronze award is the first of three levels in the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which acknowledges providers committed to improving care for elders and individuals with disabilities.
Timothy Reedy, Senior Director of Long-term Care at Guthrie Cortland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, stated, “The journey to providing the highest quality care does not have an endpoint. This quality award recognizes the ongoing dedication from our team entrusted to care for your loved ones during a crucial time in their lives.”
The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program involves a three-level process where organizations are assessed against national standards for excellence. These standards are part of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program aimed at enhancing performance over time. At the Bronze level, recipients develop an organizational profile that includes their vision, mission, key customers, strengths, and challenges. Achieving this level allows Guthrie Cortland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to pursue the Silver – Achievement in Quality award.
Cathy Bergland, Chair of the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board, remarked on this achievement: “Receiving this award marks the beginning of an exciting journey toward excellence. Congratulations to Guthrie Cortland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for this significant achievement. I encourage you to take some time to celebrate and continue striving for higher levels of quality and performance.”
The 2025 National Quality Award Program is supported by AHCA/NCAL Associate Business Members: HealthCap, McKesson, Rosie, Incite Workforce Solutions Powered by SnapCare, and Prevail by First Quality.
