The awards highlight excellence in patient safety, bariatric surgery, cancer care, women’s services, knee and hip replacement, and emergency care.

The Women’s Choice Award is given to hospitals that excel in clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and address women’s health care preferences. Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania was honored with five separate awards. These include being ranked among the top 16% nationally for patient safety based on 12 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) measures; top 8% for bariatric surgery regarding surgical safety and outcomes; top 10% for cancer care based on comprehensive services and low infection rates; top 8% for women’s services covering a range from obstetrics to specialized care; and top 13% for knee and hip replacement focusing on surgical outcomes and orthopedic care.

Guthrie Troy Community Hospital also received recognition as one of the Best Hospitals for Emergency Care. It was ranked in the top 10% nationally for speed, effectiveness, and compassionate service in its emergency department.

According to the announcement: “These awards reflect Guthrie’s commitment to the highest care standards, which is particularly significant as women make more than 80% of family health care decisions.”

The six awards emphasize Guthrie’s efforts across its network to reduce complications, provide specialized services, and support positive outcomes at both tertiary and community hospital levels.
