Guthrie hosts annual Shine a Light on Lung Cancer event for awareness and support

Guthrie will host its annual Shine a Light on Lung Cancer event to mark Lung Cancer Awareness Month. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Best Western Grand Victorian Inn in Sayre. It is open to the public and free of charge.

The evening will feature dinner, presentations by Guthrie Oncology experts, and personal accounts from lung cancer survivors. The presentations will cover several topics relevant to lung cancer care and research.

Dr. Marcelle Meseeha and Dr. Joseph Kuruvilla will present “Lung Cancer Screening and Palliative Care in Our Community.” Dr. Alina Basnet will discuss “Precision Medicine in Lung Cancer.” Susan Hadlock, R.N., CCRP, and Christina Finlan, BSN, R.N., will speak on “Advances in Lung Cancer Research.”

Guthrie encourages community members to participate in the event for support and information about lung cancer. Those interested are asked to RSVP by October 23 by registering at guthrie.org/shinealight.
