Geneva Ballard, MD, breast radiologist and Chair of Radiology at The Guthrie Clinic, has been appointed to the Physician Advisory Committee of The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), according to an announcement from the clinic on Apr. 7.
Ballard’s appointment comes after a nomination by Dr. Edmund Sabanegh, who serves as Guthrie President and Chief Executive Officer. The committee is composed of physician leaders from across Pennsylvania and is designed to guide HAP’s advocacy work, policy priorities, and strategic initiatives.
The advisory committee acts as a forum for physicians to provide input on strategies that impact both physician enterprises and the sustainability of hospitals and health systems. Its focus areas include addressing workforce challenges, evaluating payment structures, and fostering innovation in care delivery—topics considered essential for the future direction of healthcare in Pennsylvania.
“It’s a privilege to represent Guthrie on HAP’s Physician Advisory Committee alongside physician leaders from across Pennsylvania,” said Ballard. “This committee provides an important forum for aligning clinical expertise with advocacy and policy efforts that support sustainable health systems and high-quality care for our communities.”
HAP represents nearly 240 hospitals and health systems throughout Pennsylvania with a commitment to advancing policies that ensure accessible healthcare statewide.
