The Guthrie Towanda Skilled Nursing Unit marked its 50th anniversary with a ceremony attended by residents, families, staff, and local officials. The event included Pennsylvania State Senator Gene Yaw and State Representative Clint Owlett, who presented official citations to recognize the facility’s long-standing role in the community.
The Skilled Nursing Unit has served Bradford and Sullivan counties since it opened in 1975. Over the years, it has provided continuous care to local residents.
Joe Sawyer, Senior Vice President of Pennsylvania Hospital Operations at Guthrie, said, “This milestone represents consistency, trust, and an enduring commitment to this community. For 50 years, this facility has been about people caring for people, and that will never change.”
Looking ahead, the Skilled Nursing Unit plans to continue its mission while also adopting new approaches to improve services for residents and their families.
