The Guthrie Clinic has announced that Terri Couts, Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer, has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review. Couts has been named to the 2025 edition of “Chief Digital Officers to Know” list.
Hospitals and health systems are increasingly using digital tools and emerging technologies to improve operations and patient experience. The leaders on this list are guiding their organizations into a more connected future. The list honors chief digital officers for advancing healthcare through innovative initiatives.
Becker’s highlighted Couts’ efforts in improving patient and provider experiences, including leading a team that achieved $5 million in cost savings. She also helped establish the Guthrie Pulse Center, a virtual command center enhancing patient care across 14 counties in Pennsylvania and New York.
“The creation of the Guthrie Pulse Center represents a transformative step forward in how we deliver care across our hospitals,” said Dr. Edmund Sabanegh, President and CEO, The Guthrie Clinic. “This innovative virtual care model not only enhances bedside care but also strengthens our commitment to improving access to high-quality healthcare in rural communities. I am incredibly proud of the dedication and collaboration that made this vision a reality, particularly Terri’s leadership and expertise, which were instrumental in bringing the Guthrie Pulse Center to life. This initiative will have a lasting impact on the health and well-being of the patients we serve.”
Couts’ inclusion on this list is not her first recognition; she has previously been honored as an “Innovator of the Year” by the College of Health Information Management Executives. Additionally, the Guthrie Pulse Center received a “Health Technology Excellence Award” from ECRI Health.
