Jennifer Yartym has been appointed as President of Guthrie Corning Hospital, effective January 1. She will also continue in her current role as President of Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.

Ms. Yartym commented on her new responsibilities, stating, “As President of both hospitals, I will focus on creating consistency and standardizing processes to deliver the highest quality care. I am fortunate to work with strong leaders and caregivers at both hospitals to support this work.”

Yartym brings experience from her previous positions, having spent 19 years at Corning Hospital, including serving as Vice President of Operations and acting as Interim Hospital President during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, she joined Cortland Medical Center.

The leadership change follows Paul VerValin stepping down as Corning Hospital President to concentrate on his system-level duties as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
