Congressman Nick Langworthy announced a $100,000 federal grant on Tuesday from NeighborWorks America to benefit two organizations in New York’s 23rd District. The funding will go to Arbor Housing and Development located in Corning and the Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation and Improvement Corporation.
The purpose of this grant is to help reduce housing costs and increase housing availability. It aims to support economic opportunities, revitalize neighborhoods, and create new jobs.
“I’m proud to announce the NeighborWorks grant which will create jobs in our district while expanding housing supply in the area,” said Congressman Langworthy. “Affordable housing remains a huge hurdle for many that live in Western New York and the Southern Tier. I am excited to see these communities get funding to help provide relief for those who are experiencing housing uncertainty.”
NeighborWorks America is a public nonprofit organization, established by Congress, that offers financial and technical support to community-based nonprofit groups. The grant aims to strengthen communities across New York’s 23rd District by improving housing affordability and addressing housing instability.
