Congressman Nick Langworthy, who has represented New York’s 23rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently addressed several local and national issues on his social media account.
On April 14, 2026, Langworthy celebrated a major achievement for Buffalo’s hockey community. He wrote, “The playoff drought is dead. Playoff hockey and home ice advantage are alive and well in Buffalo. Congrats to Buffalo Sabres on an incredible season and monumental turnaround. Hockeytown is going to rock late into spring. Lindy Ruff deserves Coach of the Year. Go Sabres!” This message highlighted the end of a significant playoff absence for the Buffalo Sabres and praised head coach Lindy Ruff.
Later that day, Langworthy commented on energy policy in New York State, referencing ongoing debates about natural gas infrastructure. On April 14, he posted: “Natural gas is affordable, reliable and abundant —and despite Hochul & Albany Dems’ best efforts to kill it, the NESE pipeline is a huge win for common sense. BUT, we can’t leave Upstate NY behind while residents are being crushed by skyrocketing bills. Energy freedom means:” The congressman expressed support for the Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) pipeline project while voicing concerns about rising utility costs in upstate communities.
On April 15, Langworthy addressed recent changes affecting service industry workers’ incomes: “I’ve seen firsthand how much tips mean. My family ran a small business. Workers used that extra cash to survive. Every dollar matters. That’s why I’m proud to have helped eliminate ‘Tax on Tips.’ It puts more of your hard-earned money where it belongs: back into your pockets.”
Nick Langworthy was born in Jamestown, New York in 1981 and currently resides in Pendleton at age 42. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Niagara University in 2003.
