The Cortland Memorial Foundation announced on Mar. 12 that its annual Nightingale Benefit Concert will move to The Lookout at Greek Peak Mountain Resort this year, with the event scheduled for Friday, May 8. The concert is set during National Nurses Week and marks Florence Nightingale’s birthday, aiming to raise funds for Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.

The event highlights the importance of supporting local healthcare and recognizing the contributions of nurses. Organizers said the new venue and format are in response to feedback from previous attendees, focusing on celebration and guest engagement.

Ithaca’s Fall Creek Brass Band will headline the evening with a performance intended to encourage dancing among guests. A key feature of the night will be the presentation of the fourth annual Nightingale Award, which honors a Guthrie nurse chosen through peer nominations.

The program begins with a welcome reception at 6 p.m., offering hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and a cash bar featuring themed signature drinks. Attendees can participate in activities such as a Wine Pull for a chance at “golden bottles” and enter door prize drawings. Retired local nurses will receive special recognition and entry into a dedicated prize drawing, while current Guthrie nurses are eligible for a grand prize drawing at the end of the night.

Tickets are priced at $50 per person, with registration managed by staff check-in rather than physical tickets. More information about registration and sponsorship opportunities can be found at Guthrie.org/NightingaleConcert. As Greek Peak operates as a cashless facility, guests are advised that credit or debit cards will be required for purchases during the event.
