Seth White has been recognized as the April winner of the Sunshine Program Award at UHS. The award highlights the exceptional care and contributions of non-licensed nursing support staff. Seth, a nursing assistant on Memorial 6, was nominated by the wife of a patient he cared for.

In her nomination letter, she praised Seth’s patience and empathy, noting his ability to make her husband laugh despite challenging circumstances. She also commended Seth for building a relationship with her husband and maintaining clear communication throughout his stay.

“He made my husband feel valued as a patient, and his positive, joyful personality was WONDERFUL,” said the wife. “Seth sets a high standard of care that we hope everyone gets to experience when they come to UHS!”

The Sunshine Award comes with a bouquet of sunflowers and recognition among peers. During the celebration, Seth enjoyed cookies in acknowledgment of his achievements.

UHS encourages patients, families, and colleagues to nominate non-licensed support staff based on UHS Values such as Respect, Teamwork, Innovation, Trust, and Compassion. Nominations can be submitted via paper at kiosks and boxes at all UHS locations or electronically through email.

While all nominees are acknowledged each month, one is selected for special recognition.
