The Sayre American Legion Post #283 has donated $6,200 to the Guthrie Veterans Patient Assistance Fund following its annual golf tournament. The event, now in its 13th year, took place at Tomaso’s Golf Course and saw participation from seventeen teams. Connie Roberts served as the tournament director.

Funds were raised through door prizes and a silent auction during the tournament. The Veterans Patient Assistance Fund helps cover costs for veteran patients such as medications, medical equipment, transportation to appointments, and other specialized care. This financial support aims to ease burdens for veterans seeking treatment at Guthrie.

Guthrie expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from the Sayre American Legion Post #283. “Guthrie is grateful to the Sayre American Legion Post #283 for their continued commitment to local veterans. Following their successful annual golf tournament, the Post donated $6,200 to the Guthrie Veterans Patient Assistance Fund, ensuring essential resources reach those who have served.”

Looking ahead, Post #283 is preparing for next year’s event. “Post #283 is already planning the 14th annual tournament for June 18, 2026, ensuring this tradition continues to support Guthrie’s veteran patients.”
