Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy announced a significant development for the Seneca Nation Department of Transportation. The department has been awarded $5,883,200 by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to support the Allegany Territory Bus Facility.

This funding was initially announced during the Biden administration but had not yet been allocated. With this announcement, the project will now receive funds under President Trump’s administration and Secretary Duffy’s leadership.

“This critical investment will improve transit infrastructure and expand access to reliable transportation,” stated Congressman Langworthy. “I am pleased that under President Trump and Secretary Duffy, this funding is finally being delivered. This is a win for the Seneca Nation, a win for local workers, and a win for rural connectivity across our region.”

Secretary Duffy’s Office commented on the grant’s context: “These grants are part of the 3,200 awarded but unobligated backlog left behind from the prior administration. Under Secretary Duffy’s leadership and commitment to get America building again, DOT has reviewed these agreements to ensure compliance with the President’s Executive Orders and will be working with the project sponsors to get these agreements signed. As DOT works through the backlog, I’ll share additional information as I get it.”
