The Chemung County Buildings and Grounds Department has announced that sign-ups for swimming lessons at the Harris Hill Pool will begin on June 17, 2025. Children must be at least six years old by June 30, 2025, to participate in the lessons. Interested individuals can register online at www.chemungcountyny.gov by clicking on the Parks and Rec icon followed by the Harris Hill Swim Lessons icon.

Registration is mandatory due to limited space, and payment is required upon registration. An additional fee applies to all credit card transactions. Early registrations will not be accepted.

The Harris Hill Pool opened its doors on Saturday, June 14th. The swimming lessons will consist of one six-week session with two scheduling options: Mondays and Wednesdays from June 30th to August 6th or Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 1st to August 7th, both from 11:10 a.m. to 11:40 a.m.

For season pass holders, the cost per child for swimming lessons is $25 for Chemung County residents and $35 for non-county residents. The season pass costs are $40 for individual county residents and $80 for families; non-county residents pay $55 individually or $100 per family. A family pass covers two adults and four children.

For those without a season pass, swimming lessons cost $60 per child for county residents and $75 for non-county residents. To receive an online discount, the season pass must be purchased simultaneously with swim lesson registration.

Additional information can be obtained by contacting the Buildings and Grounds Department/Parks Department at 607-737-2843.
