Assemblyman Joseph Angelino (R,C-Norwich) has announced that the Sidney Memorial Public Library, located in Assembly District 121, will receive about $225,000 in state aid for construction projects.
The funding comes from capital funds set aside in the State Budget. The money is intended to support a range of improvements at public libraries, including roof replacement, installation of alternative energy resources, new HVAC systems, windows and doors, upgraded lighting systems, electrical upgrades, electric vehicle charging stations, standby generators, and the construction or replacement of parking lots. Projects to improve broadband infrastructure are also eligible for this funding.
“These funds will go a long way toward helping renovate our library buildings, upgrade facilities and public spaces and improve accessibility for everyone in the community. I am looking forward to seeing these important renovation and improvement projects completed. Our public libraries deserve our care and support,” said Angelino.
