Bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus Endorsed Molinaro-Backed Bill to Protect Internet Access for Low-Income Families

The Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act, championed by U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19), has garnered significant bipartisan support as the Problem Solvers Caucus endorses the bill to ensure continued internet access for low-income families in the United States.

Rep. Marc Molinaro emphasized the importance of extending the Affordable Connectivity Program, stating, "The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a lifeline to rural and low income New Yorkers, making virtual work, education, and health opportunities much more accessible." The bipartisan effort to support the bill has gained momentum, with over 200 additional cosponsors, including 39 members of the Problem Solvers Caucus.

Congresswoman Debbie Dingell highlighted the critical role of high-speed internet in today's society, stating, "If we’re going to bring our nation’s infrastructure into the 21st century, we need to continue to expand access to affordable, high-speed Internet." Congresswoman Mary Peltola echoed the sentiment that internet access is a necessity, stating, "It is untenable that anyone is priced out of participation in the online economy, job market, or exchange of ideas." The bill has also received strong support from Congressman Mike Lawler, who emphasized the program's importance in providing essential online services to millions of Americans.

Congressman Chris Pappas emphasized the urgency of renewing the program to protect families' access to high-speed internet, especially for those who may face increased costs or loss of access without funding.
