U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) has called for the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle following an incident at a Trump rally.
"I withheld judgment on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle until Congress could hear from her directly. She admitted it was a mission failure, admitted the buck stops with her, has tried to deflect responsibility, and will not adequately explain what went wrong. She must step aside and allow new leadership at the Secret Service," Molinaro stated.
The specifics of the failure in question were not detailed in Molinaro's statement.
