Federal funds allocated to enhance Upstate New York airport infrastructure

U.S. Representative Marc Molinaro (NY-19) has announced the allocation of $10,322,845 in federal funding to several airports in Upstate New York. The funds will be distributed among Greater Binghamton Airport, Ithaca Tompkins International Airport, Columbia County Airport, Albert S. Nader Regional Airport, Tri-Cities Airport, and Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport.

The financial support comes from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through the Airport Infrastructure Grant Program and the Airport Improvement Grant Program. These grants are aimed at upgrading various airport facilities including terminals, terminal aprons, passenger boarding bridges, runway lights, and other essential infrastructure.

Rep. Molinaro stated, "I'm excited to announce these significant investments in our airports across Upstate New York. This funding will support important infrastructure advancements to ensure our local airports remain competitive and provide comfort for travelers."

Roxan E. Noble, Director of Ithaca Tompkins International Airport expressed gratitude for the grants: "We are thrilled to receive these grants from the DOT: Federal Aviation Administration with the support of Congressman Marc Molinaro. The combined funding for these grants is a testament to our commitment to enhancing both the sustainability and infrastructure of Ithaca Tompkins International Airport."

Kerri Harrington, Administrator for Albert S. Nader Regional Airport also extended thanks: "The City of Oneonta and its Airport Commission would like to thank the FAA and Congressman Marc Molinaro for their continued support of the Albert S. Nader Regional Airport."

Shane Butler, Administrator for Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport added his appreciation: "Thank you to Congress, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) for their continued support of Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport (OIC)."

Details on specific allocations include:

- Greater Binghamton Airport will receive $4,937,777 for extensive renovations including terminal building reconstruction and security upgrades.

- Ithaca Tompkins International Airport will receive $3,791,588 for apron pavement reconstruction and updates to its Sustainable Master Plan.

- Columbia County Airport is allocated $927,270 for taxiway edge lighting reconstruction.

- Albert S Nader Regional Airport in Oneonta will get $387,434 to remove pathway obstructions.

- Tri-Cities Airport in Endicott is set to receive $117,249 for runway end identifier light system reconstruction.

- Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport in Norwich is receiving $161,527 for tree removal around runways.
