Guthrie has announced the appointment of Paul Mollo, Pharm.D, as its first Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO). This new role is part of Guthrie's strategy to enhance innovation, quality, and patient care in response to its ongoing growth.

Paul Mollo will oversee all pharmacy operations, focusing on safe and effective medication use while maintaining cost efficiency. His responsibilities include fostering innovation and improving quality and safety to enhance the patient experience. He will also lead the development and assessment of clinical pharmacy programs that align with Guthrie’s strategic goals.

Mollo brings nearly 30 years of healthcare management experience, including 21 years in pharmacy leadership at Lourdes Hospital. Before joining Guthrie, he served as Senior Director of 340B and Medication Assistance Programs at Ascension Rx, where he promoted innovation in pharmacy services.

“His proven ability to drive innovation, improve clinical outcomes, and lead diverse teams positions him to make a significant impact in this new role,” said Paul VerValin, Executive Vice President/COO of The Guthrie Clinic.

Mollo holds a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Florida at Gainesville School of Pharmacy.
