State Senator Tom O'Mara has announced that the joint Senate-Assembly hearings on Governor Kathy Hochul's proposed 2025-2026 New York State budget will continue this Tuesday. The focus of the upcoming session will be on Environmental Conservation and Energy. These hearings are part of a monthlong series aimed at reviewing various aspects of the governor's budget proposal.
The hearings began yesterday, initiating discussions among lawmakers and stakeholders. They provide a platform for testimony from key figures, including top officials from the Hochul administration, state agency leaders, local representatives, and other affected parties.
Senator O'Mara emphasized the importance of these sessions for fiscal transparency and policy evaluation. "Senate Republicans will continue to be a voice for lower taxes, less regulation, greater accountability, affordability, economic growth, job creation, and more common sense on state fiscal practices," he stated. He represents the 58th Senate District in New York.
Today's hearing can be watched online starting at 9:30 AM. Archived videos will also be available after each session for those who cannot attend live.
