The Guthrie Clinic announced on Mar. 19 that Dr. Mustafa Aman and Dr. Erica Skipton have joined its Board of Directors, effective Feb. 26.
The addition of Aman and Skipton to the board is intended to strengthen the clinic’s leadership as it continues to focus on patient-centered care and long-term strategy.
Mustafa Aman, MD, MHA, FACS, FASMBS is a bariatric and minimally invasive general surgeon who has been with Guthrie since 2015. He currently leads the Guthrie Weight Loss Center in Sayre as Chief and serves as Program Director of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery. Aman is also involved in medical education as a clinical core faculty member for the Guthrie General Surgery Residency Program and holds assistant professorships at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Erica Skipton, MD joined Guthrie in 2022 as a general and breast surgeon, seeing patients in Cortland and Ithaca. She completed her general surgery residency at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital where she served as Administrative Chief during her final year. Skipton is President-Elect of the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center medical staff and participates in several committees focused on quality care, including Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Control.
