The Guthrie Clinic announced on March 16 that its Simulation & Advanced Skills Institute at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital has been included in Becker’s Hospital Review’s Simulation and Education Programs to Know for 2026. The recognition highlights the clinic’s efforts in advancing medical education and patient safety.

This acknowledgment from Becker’s, a prominent healthcare industry publication, places The Guthrie Clinic among leading institutions focused on innovative healthcare education and professional development. The listing is seen as an indicator of the quality and impact of the clinic’s training initiatives.

The Simulation & Advanced Skills Institute (SASI) serves as a key part of Guthrie’s educational offerings. It provides a realistic environment where medical students, residents, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals can practice complex procedures and teamwork skills without risk to patients. The facility is equipped with high-fidelity manikins, advanced surgical simulators, and standardized patient actors to simulate various clinical scenarios.

According to the clinic, SASI supports continuous learning by preparing healthcare providers for real-world challenges. This hands-on approach is designed to improve both patient safety and clinical proficiency throughout the health system.

“Our inclusion in Becker’s distinguished list highlights the dedication of our educators and staff to advancing health care education,” said Bethany Altieri, Program Manager of the Simulation & Advanced Skills Institute at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital. “The Simulation & Advanced Skills Institute empowers our clinicians to practice and perfect life-saving skills in a supportive and innovative environment, ultimately leading to better outcomes for our patients.”
