UHS Delaware Valley Hospital has introduced a new CT scanning machine, the GE Revolution Apex Platform, at its facility. The hospital marked the occasion with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 31.

The updated technology is expected to provide clearer images and faster results for patients in Delaware County and nearby areas. According to UHS-DVH President & CEO Rolland “Boomer” Bojo, “Our goal is always to improve patient experience and outcomes – and this technology helps us do both.”

The new scanner includes artificial intelligence-enhanced imaging capabilities and can accommodate patients up to 675 pounds, expanding access for more individuals. It also streamlines preparation and processing steps, which allows technologists to spend additional time with patients.

Previously, some specialized scans such as cardiac CT and brain perfusion studies required patients to travel to other UHS hospitals. With the installation of this equipment, UHS Delaware Valley Hospital can now perform these advanced diagnostics locally.

Megan Heaphy, Director of Ambulatory, Emergency Services, Imaging, Walk-in and Security at UHS-DVH, stated, “We want our patients to feel confident they can get the advanced services they need without leaving their community – and this addition further strengthens that commitment.”
