UHS announced on Mar. 9 the opening of its newly renovated and expanded Upper Front Street location in Binghamton, providing a range of healthcare services for patients of all ages under one roof.

The expansion aims to improve access to essential healthcare services in the community by consolidating primary care, pediatrics, physical therapy and rehabilitation, and lab services at a single site. The facility is located next to Weis Markets at 1290 Upper Front Street.

Frank Eder, MD, President of the UHS Medical Group, said, “At UHS, we always put the patient first. We are very pleased to be able to offer comprehensive services under one roof, providing a patient experience that is convenient and private for those who trust us with their care.”

The renovated facility was designed with patient privacy and operational efficiency in mind. Dr. Eder said, “Thanks to the incredible collaboration and hard work of our teams, UHS is proud to have transformed this vision for care in our community into a reality – advancing the standard for healthcare in our region, and ensuring our patients have access to the services they need close to home.”

As part of this expansion, UHS closed its facility at 91 Chenango Bridge Road and relocated its Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation and Pediatrics practices to the new site. Patients will continue seeing their previous providers in an updated space. The pediatric team has served local families for decades and now shares space with primary care providers for easier transitions as children grow older. Dr. Eder said, “For some patients, the transition from pediatric care to primary care can be a challenge. By offering these services under one roof, we hope to make the transition of care seamless for our patients.”

Darrel Harvey, Director of Outpatient Operations at UHS Physical Therapy and Rehab, highlighted new opportunities: “The move to Upper Front Street provides a great opportunity to both expand services for our established clientele and welcome new patients. The new facility also allows us to place a great focus on sports performance, with our new state-of-the-art sports performance gym.” Harvey added that the gym offers “a best-in-class experience” for various groups including student athletes and those transitioning back into competition.

The expanded UHS Upper Front Street location is now open for appointments.
