The 20th annual Pride Palooza took place on June 14 at Otsiningo Park. The UHS PrEP Program was a leading sponsor of the event, which is part of Pride Month celebrations. Teams from UHS PrEP, HIV, and Hep C programs participated by providing information about education, care access, and other resources. Lucia Collar Yagas, MD from UHS Plastics joined to discuss gender-affirming facial feminization surgery.

The event is organized by the Binghamton Pride Coalition, established in 2005. The coalition aims to combat discrimination based on sexuality and gender identity while promoting pride and visibility for LGBTQ+ communities in the Binghamton area.

Pride Palooza is designed as a family-friendly gathering where attendees can express themselves freely. This year featured a record number of vendors offering games, entertainment, face painting, a talent show, and food options. Organizers reported strong attendance for the event’s 20th anniversary.
