State Senator Tom O’Mara and his colleagues will honor Leslie Church, Chair of the Yates County Legislature, as a 2025 “Woman of Distinction” at a ceremony in Albany. The event is part of the Senate’s 27th Annual “Women of Distinction” celebration.

Leslie Church has been recognized for her leadership and contributions to public service, volunteerism, and community development over nearly three decades in Yates County and the Finger Lakes region. “I am grateful and proud to have this opportunity to recognize and pay tribute to Leslie’s leadership and countless contributions to the quality and strength of Yates County,” said O’Mara.

Church is among more than 60 honorees representing state senatorial districts throughout New York. She was selected by O’Mara to represent his 58th Senate District, which includes Chemung, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Yates counties, and part of Allegany County.

The awards ceremony will be live-streamed beginning at 5:30 PM.
