Broome County Public Library - Our Adult Summer Reading Program Starts Today!

211

Our Adult Summer Reading Program starts today!

Come in to the library to get a card and start reading!

Here are the details:

BCPL is teaming up with Vestal Public Library, Your Home Public Library, and George F. Johnson Memorial Library to bring you a summer of reading and fun!

The program will run June 27th-August 12th.

Here's how it works:

- Pick up a punch card from any of the 4 libraries

- Each book you read, come in to any of the 4 libraries to have your card stamped. 5 books in total will fill your card!

- Once your card is full, you can enter into one of the 4 libraries' monthly raffles. The library you drop your card at is the raffle you'll be entered into.

For example, if you drop your card off here you'll be entered into our raffle.

- Once your card is full you can pick up another and keep reading!

If you have more than one card filled out, you can enter more than one monthly raffle or you can drop them all at the same library. For example, if you read 10 books, and have 2 full cards, in time for the 1st raffle, you can drop both at BCPL or you can drop 1 at BCPL and 1 at Vestal to enter both raffles.

Anyone who submitted at least one card will be entered into the grand prize raffle- a $100 gift certificate to Lost Dog Café!

That means, as long as you read 5 books this summer, you can enter the raffle!

For monthly raffles, our prizes will include gift certificates to local businesses and tote bags!

What exactly counts as a book? Anything except children's books and magazines!

This means: fiction and nonfiction, graphic novels/comic books/manga, audiobooks, and ebooks. You can read both YA and adult materials.

Wondering what to read? We'll have summer reading bingo sheets you can pick up that offer different prompts! They're a fun way to explore new genres/formats/authors. We'll also have booklists on social media and our website. And as always, you can come ask us for recommendations!

Beyond reading, BCPL will also have a few different programs this summer, along with our regularly scheduled programs, so keep an eye out for those!
