Chemung County has announced the 2025 Chemung County/Casella Waste Management Systems Scholarship. This program aims to support students pursuing careers in environmental science, engineering, agriculture, waste management, or related fields.

Casella provides funding for the scholarships as part of a landfill operations contract with Chemung County. The county administers the scholarship program. This initiative highlights the commitment of both Chemung County and Casella to developing professionals in environmental fields.

The scholarship offers $2,200 in 2025 for each recipient's education costs. Scholarships will be awarded based on application reviews, focusing on eligibility, commitment to an environmental career path, and academic success. Applicants must be residents of Chemung County and U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Applications are due by April 28, 2025. Recipients will be notified by late May 2025. More information is available on Chemung County’s website at ChemungCountyNY.gov/scholarship.
