WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced that FeedMore WNY will receive $3,000,000 for their new building as part of H. Res. 4366, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. This legislation passed the House yesterday in a vote of 339 to 85. This new 197,700 sq. ft. building will be located in Hamburg and will provide additional space for food intake, logistics, and future initiatives.

"I'm proud to secure $3 million for Feedmore WNY’s new building in Hamburg to give them the space they need to continue their important work and provide more food to those who need it," said Congressman Langworthy. "Access to nutritious food can be life-changing for individuals and families facing food insecurity. This investment will not only expand FeedMore WNY's food intake capacity but enhance their ability to implement innovative programs and initiatives aimed at helping our neighbors."

Congressman Langworthy had the opportunity to meet with a representative from Feedmore WNY yesterday to relay the good news in person.

“We are grateful for the support of Representative Nick Langworthy for requesting and securing $3 million in federal funding to support FeedMore WNY’s urgently needed new facility," said Tara A. Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY. "This new facility is critical to the continuation and growth of FeedMore WNY’s vital programs that tackle root causes of food insecurity, increase access to nutritious food, provide nourishment and comfort to vulnerable neighbors, offer free workforce development and community nutrition education, and much more. We deeply appreciate Rep. Langworthy’s continued partnership and commitment to building brighter futures for our Western New York community members.”

As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, Congressman Langworthy has been working in collaboration with local organizations to address food insecurity in Western New York and the Southern Tier.
