U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) recently commented on President Biden’s State of the Union Address, expressing skepticism and disappointment. Molinaro addressed various points made by the President, stating, “Yes, we must protect Social Security and Medicare. Yes, we must invest in American manufacturers. And yes, we must support unions and working families.”

However, Molinaro quickly cast doubt on the sincerity of these statements, remarking, “Unfortunately, there’s little evidence that these statements are anything more than campaign slogans in an election year.” He highlighted concerns specific to upstate New York, emphasizing that the reality faced by constituents does not align with the President’s optimistic portrayal.

Molinaro pointed out ongoing challenges in the region, stating, “Cost of living is still up, crime is still a big problem, and despite the President having executive authority to close the border today, it remains wide open.” He called for a more honest and earnest approach from President Biden, expressing willingness to engage in bipartisan discussions and collaboration if such an approach is adopted.

The representative concluded by asserting his commitment to standing up against what he perceives as misleading narratives, declaring, “Until then, I’m not going to accept the gaslighting and neither will the working families, farmers, and small businesses that I represent. They understand the pain caused by Biden’s agenda because they’re living it.”
