Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) has announced nearly $2.5 million in government funding for projects in Allegany County as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. The funding includes $2,000,000 for water system improvements in the Town of Friendship and $425,850 for revamping the county fairgrounds.
"I'm proud to secure almost $2.5 million for projects to revitalize the infrastructure and boost the economy in Allegany County," said Congressman Langworthy. "Access to clean water is essential for public health and economic development, and this new funding for the water system in the Town of Friendship will ensure residents have reliable access to this vital resource. Additionally, the investment to improve the county fairgrounds will not only enhance recreational opportunities but also promote tourism, driving economic growth in the region. I will continue to advocate for resources that strengthen our communities and bolster the economic future of the Southern Tier."
The successful funding allocation is the result of collaboration between Congressman Langworthy and local officials in Allegany County to address community needs at the federal level. This partnership between federal, state, and local governments aims to prioritize critical infrastructure projects that benefit constituents and enhance the region's resilience.
