WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced that the Town of West Seneca will receive $1,229,360 for needed water improvements as part of H. Res. 4366, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. This legislation passed the House today in a vote of 339 to 85.

"I'm proud to secure $1.229 million to repair and replace aging water infrastructure in West Seneca,” said Congressman Langworthy. “Water District 8 only services residential areas, and this project is vital to ensuring their continued access to clean water. Without this funding, residential water maintenance bills were estimated to increase more than twenty times, a burden most families aren’t prepared to shoulder. I’ll continue working with Supervisor Gary Dickson and other local officials to ensure the needs of our shared constituents are met.”

Supervisor Gary Dickson added, “The Town of West Seneca thanks Congressman Langworthy and Senator Schumer for their bipartisan efforts to secure much needed funding for West Seneca Water District 8. This kind of funding makes a difference in our budget and the taxes paid by our residents, especially our senior citizens. This project replaces sections of water main pipe that are prone to breaking, therefore making water supply more reliable. We are grateful for the opportunity to pursue funding like this in collaboration with our elected representatives.”

Congressman Langworthy has been working in collaboration with local officials in West Seneca to ensure that the community's needs are heard and addressed at the federal level. This successful Community Project Funding Request is the result of the strong partnership between federal, state, and local governments in prioritizing critical infrastructure projects that benefit constituents and strengthen the region's resilience.
