Assemblyman Phil Palmesano Encourages Future Farmers of America Students to Advocate for Agriculture

Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C-Corning) recently met with Future Farmers of America (FFA) students from Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga (TST) BOCES to discuss how to better support family farms and agriculture in New York state. Palmesano expressed his satisfaction in meeting with the students, stating, "I enjoyed spending some time talking to our FFA students from TST BOCES who were in Albany advocating on behalf of our family farms and agriculture in New York state."

During the meeting, Palmesano highlighted the importance of youth involvement in advocacy and engaging with elected officials, emphasizing, "I especially enjoyed our time talking about the importance of our young and talented students getting involved and engaging their elected officials, as we work for them." He further recognized the students as not only the future of farming but also as future leaders, saying, "These young people represent not just the future of farming, but they will also be our future leaders."

Expressing his support for the students' advocacy efforts, Palmesano stated, "It was my honor to meet with them and I encourage them to continue to stay active and involved in their advocacy, not just for our family farms and agriculture, but for all issues that are of importance to them." He concluded by wishing the students success in their future endeavors, remarking, "I wish them the very best as they pursue their future dreams and goals."
