Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C-Corning) recently met with local library leaders from the Southern Tier Library System in Albany. Joined by Sen. Tom O’Mara (R,C-Big Flats) and Assemblyman Chris Friend (R,C-Big Flats), Palmesano discussed the critical importance of libraries in local communities.
"It was great to visit with our friends from the Southern Tier Library System. They do incredible work for the residents they serve. Our libraries are truly the central hub for many of our communities, particularly in our upstate, rural areas. ‘Libraries are for Everyone’ is not just a slogan or theme for our local libraries. It is a fact and a mission they demonstrate every day. The investments made in our local libraries are critically important and pay dividends back to the public and our local communities. I will continue to be a staunch advocate on behalf of our local libraries, as it is simply the right thing to do,” said Palmesano.
