Corning-Painted Post High School had the highest enrollment among Steuben County schools, welcoming 1,463 students during the 2022-23 academic year, according to the New York State Education Department.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 85.2% of the Corning-Painted Post High School's total enrollment.

Among the 33 schools in Steuben County, Corning-Painted Post Middle School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 962 students, while Hornell Junior-Senior High School welcomed 625 students and came in third in the 2022-23 school year.

Corning-Painted Post High School is part of Corning City School District, which roughly covers three schools within Steuben County and has a main office in Addison.

In the previous school year, Corning-Painted Post High School also had the highest number of students among Steuben County schools.

In 2022, New York had roughly one teacher for every 12 students, which is lower than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students. A lower student-to-teacher ratio has been found to improve students' school performance.
