Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C-Corning) is reminding the community about the Military and Veterans Appreciation event at Watkins Glen International (WGI), held in conjunction with Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen on Sunday, June 23. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lot 5 parking area.

All military personnel and veterans will be admitted into the facility free of charge, along with one guest. Military personnel must show their Military ID for free admission, while veterans can present their DD214 or discharge papers. This offer is valid only for tickets to the race on Sunday, June 23.

For questions or more information, please contact Madeleine Bush at 1-607-535-3423 or mbush@nascar.com.

"Thank you to WGI for, once again, offering this wonderful gesture and opportunity to our veterans," said Palmesano. "Your generous, continued and unwavering support for our veterans over the years has been amazing. It's been a privilege for me to help promote this special event every year."

Palmesano emphasized the importance of recognizing active-duty military and veterans: "Our active-duty military and veterans have done, and continue to do, so much to keep us safe and protect our freedoms. This is a nice way for us to say thank you to our nation's heroes."

He concluded by expressing gratitude: "The bottom line is there are no words we can say or actions we can take that will do justice to the incredible debt we owe to all of our veterans. Thank you again to WGI and thank you to all of our military and veterans."
