Congressman Nick Langworthy announced that West Seneca Fire District #3 has been awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) amounting to $108,220.95.

“This significant investment in West Seneca’s firefighters will enable them to better serve the community by ensuring they have the tools they need to do their jobs safely and effectively,” said Congressman Langworthy. “Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day, and I’m proud to work with them to bring home federal resources so they have the best possible equipment.”

Earlier this year, Congressman Langworthy hosted a virtual seminar with FEMA officials to help local fire departments understand and prepare for the application process for these grants. The AFG program aims to enhance the safety and readiness of fire departments nationwide by providing funding for essential equipment, protective gear, and training.
