Public hearings scheduled on lease agreements at Elmira Corning Regional Airport

A public hearing will be conducted by the Chemung County Legislature in the Legislative Chambers, 5th floor, Hazlett Building, 203 Lake Street, Elmira, New York at 6:55 p.m. on October 7, 2024. The purpose of this hearing is to gather comments regarding a proposed five-year agreement with Hertz Corporation for the lease of space at the Elmira Corning Regional Airport from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2029, with an option for one one-year extension.

The lease terms include payment of ten percent of gross receipts to the County of Chemung plus base fees adjusted annually by three percent as follows:

- Terminal building counter/office space: $10,395.42 per year

- Utilities: $532.55 per month

- Service Area: $20,898.92 per year

- Rental car ready/return spaces: $50 per space per year

- Employee parking spaces: $50 per space per year

This hearing will adhere to General Municipal Law and all interested parties and citizens are invited to attend and provide their input.

Additionally, another public hearing will take place at the same time and location to discuss a proposed five-year agreement with SNORAC LLC d/b/a Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent A Car for leasing space at the Elmira Corning Regional Airport during the same period (October 1, 2024 - September 30, 2029) with an option for a one-year extension.

The lease terms for SNORAC LLC include:

- Terminal building counter/office space: $9,752.40 per year

- Utilities: $532.55 per month

- Service Area: $20,989.92 per year

- Rental car ready/return spaces: $50 per space per year

- Employee parking spaces: $50 per space per year

This hearing will also comply with General Municipal Law and welcomes all interested parties and citizens to voice their opinions.
