Public hearing set for snowmobile operation law in Chemung County

A public hearing has been scheduled by the Chemung County Legislature regarding Introductory Local Law No. 2 for the Year 2024, titled "Local Law authorizing Operation of Snowmobile on County Public Lands pursuant to section 25.09 (2) of the Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Law." This law was presented to the legislature on September 9, 2024.

The proposed law will be subject to a public hearing before the County Executive. Interested parties can view a copy of this local law at the Clerk of the Chemung County Legislature's office during regular business hours at the Hazlett Building, located on the fifth floor at 203 Lake Street, Elmira, New York.

The public hearing is scheduled for October 1, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. It will take place in the second-floor conference room of the Hazlett Building at 203 Lake Street in Elmira. All interested persons and parties are invited to attend and present their views.

"This hearing will be held in the manner prescribed by General Municipal Law," stated Christopher Moss, Chemung County Executive. "All parties in interest and citizens will be heard at that time by the Chemung County Legislature."
