Congressman Langworthy has announced that the Seneca Nation of Indians will receive $315,724 in federal funding from the Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime (OVC). This funding aims to support services for victims of crime and address community-identified needs while reflecting the values and traditions of the Seneca Nation.

“This federal funding is a lifeline for victims of crime in the Seneca Nation, helping to ensure they receive the support, care, and justice they deserve,” said Congressman Langworthy. “Too often, tribal communities are left without the resources needed to protect their most vulnerable. I’m committed to ensuring that the Seneca Nation has the tools to uphold justice and strengthen their community.”

The Department of Justice states that the Tribal Victim Services Set-Aside Formula Program is Congressionally authorized funding designed to improve victim services across Native American communities based on each tribe's unique needs.
