Congressman Nick Langworthy has announced a federal loan of $1.46 million for the Town of Cohocton to improve its water infrastructure. The funding is part of the USDA’s Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program. It aims to address water management issues and ensure a reliable water supply for residents.
“This significant investment in water infrastructure will make a real difference for Cohocton,” said Congressman Langworthy. “With $1.46 million in federal funding, the town can move forward with essential upgrades to its water system, ensuring clean and reliable service for all residents and businesses. These improvements are about more than replacing aging infrastructure—they’ll help us build a stronger, healthier future for the entire community.”
The project will replace old water distribution lines to enhance water quality and pressure. It also aims to reduce service disruptions and contamination risks, creating a more efficient system for Cohocton's residents. The total cost of the project is $3.6 million, with local contributions aiding its completion.
