State Senator Tom O’Mara has announced the call for nominations for the Senate's 27th annual "Women of Distinction" program. This initiative aims to honor women who have made significant contributions to their communities. Each year, O’Mara and his Senate colleagues select a “Woman of Distinction” from their respective legislative districts.
The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, March 14, 2025. Nominations can be submitted online. An awards ceremony will take place in Albany in May.
O'Mara expressed his enthusiasm for the program, stating: "The ‘Woman of Distinction’ tribute is a meaningful recognition. I look forward to this annual opportunity to recognize an outstanding area citizen." He encouraged nominations by highlighting that every community has individuals who make a substantial impact, whether they are service providers, law enforcement officers, teachers, nurses, business leaders, or community residents known for their good deeds.
